The FoamOh Super Castle Play Sofa comes with 17 buildable pieces plus a pillow: 4 half-moons, 2 arches, 2 triangle wedges, 2 squares, 4 rectangles, a Triangle Ramp, Steps and a Circle. Together they make castles, multi-room forts, tunnels, slides, obstacle courses, reading nooks and a comfy sofa. Here are 15 play couch builds to try, by theme and age.
The best thing about a castle set is that it never has to look the same twice. One day it is a castle with a drawbridge. The next it is a tunnel maze, a mission control cockpit or a cozy reading den. When everyone is tired, it goes back to being a sofa.
This guide covers every piece in the Super Castle and what it does, then walks through 15 builds your kids can make, with the pieces each one uses and the ages that tend to love it most. For more ideas and step-by-step visuals, our castle builds page has real builds from FoamOh families and free downloadable build guides.

The Original Play Castle Sofa already builds castles, forts, tunnels and a full sofa. The Super Castle adds three new shapes that open up slides, climbing steps and curved builds, which older builders, climbers and siblings especially enjoy. If you start with the 14-piece castle, you can add the Ramp, Steps and Circle later from our accessories collection. You can compare both in our castles collection.
15 play couch builds to try with the Super Castle
Each build lists the main pieces, but there is no wrong way to do it. Let your kids swap pieces, rename the build and make it their own. Keep builds low for younger children, and use a light blanket, never heavy pieces, for any roof.
Castle and kingdom builds
1. The castle keep

Pieces: rectangles for the walls, both arches side by side as the gateway, squares topped with half-moons as corner towers, and a blanket for the roof.
Add the pillow inside as a throne, and the kingdom is open for business. Great for ages 3 and up.
2. The drawbridge castle

Pieces: rectangle walls, an arch as the gate, and the Triangle Ramp leading up to the gate as the drawbridge.
The drawbridge is the star here, and raising and lowering it can take up half the afternoon. Great for ages 3 and up.
3. The round tower

Pieces: the Circle as the tower base, surrounded by half-moons to make a curved wall, with a square as the lookout step.
A curved tower gives any castle a whole new look. Great for ages 4 and up.
4. The dragon's lair

Pieces: rectangles and wedges arranged low and close, one arch as the cave entrance, and a blanket over the top.
Small, dark and cozy, it is just big enough for one child and a stuffed dragon. Great for ages 2 to 6.
Fort and base builds
5. The multi-room fort

Pieces: rectangles and half-moons as walls, both arches as doorways between rooms, and blankets as roofs.
Kids tend to be very specific about which room is the kitchen and who is allowed in the bedroom. Great for ages 4 and up.
6. The command center

Pieces: half-moons in a wide semicircle, a rectangle across the front as the control panel, and a blanket overhead.
Something about the semicircle shape makes every mission feel very official. Great for ages 3 and up.
7. The lookout post

Pieces: the Steps leading up to a low platform of rectangles, with wedges as the lookout walls.
It gives climbers a safe, low place to spot pirates, dragons or approaching grown-ups. Great for ages 3 and up.
Active play builds
8. The grand obstacle course

Pieces: everything. Use the half-moons as bumps, rectangles as a balance path, the arches as tunnels, the Steps for climbing and the Triangle Ramp as a slide.
It is perfect for burning off energy on a snowy morning. Great for ages 2 and up.
9. The ramp run

Pieces: the Triangle Ramp propped against the low side of the Steps, with a rectangle as the landing zone.
Kids can race toy cars and balls down it for a surprisingly long time. Great for ages 1 to 5.
10. The tunnel maze

Pieces: both arches in a row, rectangles along the sides, and a blanket over the top to make it longer and darker.
This is a toddler favorite that tends to get crawled through again and again. Great for ages 1 to 6.
11. Stepping stones and bridges

Pieces: the Circle and squares as stepping stones, and half-moons as little bridges between them.
Add a "the floor is lava" rule, and you have a classic. Great for ages 2 and up.
Cozy and calm builds
12. The reading nook

Pieces: rectangles and wedges as low walls, the pillow inside, and a blanket over the top.
Add a stack of books and a battery-powered lantern for the coziest spot in the house. Great for ages 3 and up.
13. The cozy den

Pieces: half-moons arranged in a ring, filled with blankets and the pillow.
It is a lovely nest for quiet time, stories or just being together. Great for all ages.
Sofa and seating builds
14. The everyday sofa

Pieces: stack the pieces back into sofa shape. Our castle builds page has a guide showing how.
This is what the Super Castle looks like when nobody is building anything, and it is perfect for movie nights. Great for all ages.
15. The movie-night lounge

Pieces: rectangles laid side by side on the floor, with the pillow and a few blankets on top.
It makes a roomy lounging spot for family movie nights and visits from cousins over winter break. Great for ages 4 and up.
Build ideas by age
In short: young toddlers climb and crawl, older toddlers stack and tunnel, preschoolers build castles, and older kids run the whole kingdom.
The Early Explorers (1 to 2 years)
Lay rectangles flat to crawl across, add a half-moon for a gentle bump to climb over, and a square to pull up on. Try the tunnel maze and the ramp run. Keep everything low and stay close by.
The Stackers (2 to 3 years)
Try stepping stones and bridges, the dragon's lair and a simple obstacle course. Keep builds low and help with any stacking.
The Fort Architects (3 to 5 years)
This is when castles really arrive. The castle keep, the drawbridge castle, the command center and the lookout post are all favorites, and kids love helping to build them.
The Big Idea Crew (5 years and up)
Older kids can run all 15 builds themselves, and invent plenty more. The multi-room fort, the round tower and the grand obstacle course become full-afternoon projects.
